I picked this frag up one month ago today. Growth and Color have improved but as you can see from the picture there is algae starting to grow in two spots. Cap is in high flow and 310 to 325 par. Normally I would move the coral down in lower light but not sure what to do here cuz growth and color look good. What's your thoughts?

This happened to me with orange cap, in a super high flow high light area. In my case it lasted a few weeks and the monti cap was able to win the battle.

Use some vibrant for that bubble algae, it will also take care of the issue with your monti.

Thanks but I'll let my foxface, tangs and emerald crabs handle the bubble algae. It will take some time but they'll get the job done. I preferthat over chemicals. I'm not worreid about it though it's from dry rock and just takes time.

Dip it in 20% peroxide and tank water if your impatient OR do nothing and it will fix itself

Vibrant is not chemicals. It's heterotrophic bacteria that eat organic material

Apparently were going off topic here. Not my first time around the block in this hobby and I know we all should freak out when something goes wrong in our tanks ( Cuz it never happens) LOL, we should react fast and dump a miracle in bottle into our tanks to fix it. haha
How often does it work?
No sense in answering cuz it has nothing to do with my question. But thanks for a fun time.

Then why ask what to do about algae on the cap? I answered that... ??

Cuz the algae on the cap is not the same problem as BA. And yes you did answer it Thank You. Same answer applies for bubble algae. It will fix itself if your patient.
Add an emerald. Sit him right on the bubble algae. Only think I notice is mine never ventures far from his cave so he might not service your whole tank

Thanks, Did you see my 2nd post? Like I said ( Mithraculus Sculptus) AKA my emerald crabs will take care of it? And emeralds don't venture far, that's why I need 6+ in my 300. Good conversation my reefing friend. No hard feelings and let's move forward.

My apologies. I Prefer not to use bacteria in a bottle over natural fix. It's Bubble algae not that big a deal.
And Vibrant is not completely reef safe so I'd take that recommendation with a grain of salt as we have no idea what your inhabitants are.

I'd leave it be. If it gets worse, frag it. They grow so fast you'll be giving it away anyways.

Your not kidding. See how it's covered the plug and then some from Jan -19th to Feb 19th
