I am planning on moving in the next couple of months. I want to take my time in getting into the new house with getting the aquarium set up properly (hopefully wife will allow an upgrade!) before getting my corals moved. What have you all done with your corals during a transition?

I have reached out to a couple of local stores that I trust to see if I can "rent" some space from them, so far no answers.

I am thinking of setting up a lagoon type of system in my office basement in the interim.

Any other ideas? I will probably need to have a solution for 3-4 months during the transition. Any input would be helpful. Thank you.

I would sell them, these situations often end in disaster and the cash from the corals can go into the new tank

I have moved several times before and done a few different things.... The best and easiest is to find a reefer in your area you trust and have them coral sit for you while you move. ive also set up a temp tank in a plastic tote for a few weeks but idk about much longer than that. Office would be a good bet too.

Absolute last resort is selling your coral's.... I did this my last move and it was the worst thing I have done yet in this hobby.... You might as well get out at that point. Imo

How about buying a dedicated frag tank just for the corals while you get the tank setup like you want without having to hurry.

This is what i setup for an upcoming tank build so i can fill the new tank once it's up.
