So I'm new to salt but have been researching everything for a while now. I'll be picking up a 75 gallon setup Tuesday. It comes with a chunk of live rock (from a different tank) and 3 large damsels. I plan to transport in 5 gallon buckets but can someone tell me exactly what I need to do when I get home in order to keep them alive. It will be a bit before the tank will be up and running and obviously won't be cycled instantly. I do have Prime that I can dose in the water if necessary, and I have a 10 gallon quarantine tank.

I can get the tank set up before hand so it's ready for them.

If your doing sand (especially) in your tank my understanding is it should sit for two-ish weeks before adding fish to a tank. What we did was transport our live rock in the buckets with the water when we moved our tank.

The tank I bought was broken down. I transferred them in some of his tank water and set them up in my BC29 temporarily. So far so good.
