What to do with Saltwater on Water changes

Just want to say Thank you to everyone who replied !! Holy cow great info, never thought of the water softener and flushing of it, Could anyone with this setup @FragileReefer have you ever taken a salinity reading of that Brine flush when the softener flushes? It is the same higher or lower than tank water?

I have a certain weed that won't die no matter how much I pour SW onto it smh..

After speaking with the person that writes standards for the waste treatment industry in Texas, I got a bit of advice. A small amount in your septic is not a problem. 50 gallons a week is a problem. Like washing your white clothes with bleach. A little is ok but dont be pouring gallons down the drain because it smells bad.
I live down a gravel road. It works great to put 2 brutes in the back of my truck when I do a water change and dump that on the road to keep the dust down. I should hook up a spray bar to be more professional about it.
