This tank i 1.5 weeks old i used live sand and have about 1lb of rock in the aio chamber that sat in a fuge of an estsblished tank for about 3 months. Do i leave thhe brown? Or try to remove it im assuming its dinos which is feeding off of the sillicates in the new rock?

Temp 78
Salinity 1.025
Tank is a week old using instant ocean

Thanks in advance everyone.

Diatoms associated with new tank syndrome. Take a turkey baster and blow it off the rocks and siphon up. Reduce your whites to 25% and increase blue to 75%. You can at night add .5ml of hydrogen peroxide per 10 gals which is very safe to break it down.

Remove. I gave you remedy above

Looks like diatoms. Part of the ugly phase. Vetteguy has a good recipe with turkey blaster and higher blue light.
