Ok so awhile back this guy randomly decided to murder all of his tank mates. He is currently in my smaller 38 gallon but I would like to add other fish and since he has a track record of being a homicidal maniac I’m not Willing to risk putting anyone with him. So the question is should I just take him to the lfs who said they would take him or do I use this as an excuse to add another smaller tank and just put him in by himself with a nice zoa garden. The wife likes him in spite of his checkered past and to be honest He’s actually a really entertaining fish he’s just a jerk. So if I keep him is a 25 gallon lagoon big enough for him a cleanup crew a shrimp or 2 and a metric ton of zoas.

It's a blue damsel.... the cockroaches of the ocean
I’m not his biggest fan but if this is my excuse to add a 3rd tank and get my zoa garden I’m willing to tolerate him lol.

Hey, if you’re able to keep it and get another tank, all I say is what are you waiting for!
If you add him last to another tank he may actually not kill the others.

She have a brackish tank?

I believe the dude can live a long life in brackish water possibly under 1.010 if acclimated. Possibly 1.005

Closest she has is a malowi cichlid tank and it’s sg is right at 1.00 and they would eat him for sure

Damsel wouldn’t last long in full fresh.
Malawi cichlids (if you mean mbuna) won’t eat it…they are primarily vegetarian. But kill…that ones pretty likely…those things are evil.

I know about as much about her chichlids as she does about my reefs lol. I just know they are mean
