Can anyone tell me what kind of algae this is? Some rocks are green some are more of a brown green. Tank has been up 3 months or so. I do t have a phosphate checker and my nitrates are typically between 5 and 10. The rock is from reef keepers. They mine it in Florida so I shouldn't be leaching.

If you are referring to the light green stuff coating the rocks, that looks like coralline algae. It should turn purple after awhile.

I had this problem two months back and it's green slime algae IMO. It looks just like what I had. I cut my light cycle down from 10 hours a day to 8, and started dosing Mg and it completely dissapeared day after day and is now gone 4-5 weeks later

Does it blow off with a turkey boaster?

Looks like a case of the 'new tank uglies' to me. Tanks usually go through phases of different algae growth before they stabilize. I'm betting it goes away on its own.

O, doesn't blow off. Doesn't scrub off with a toothbrush to easy either.

Everything leaches a bit of something, but youd read most of it on a test unless your running aggressive gfo.
It may be time to add some more snails, but I dont think its anything to worry about. Probably the coralline precursor, but maybe not. All rocks get coated as they mature.
I actually get worried now when my rock starts to turn white.

Thanks. Even running GFO and carbon since I started the tank.
