Small stringy red algae. Flows in the current and looks like small strands of hair. Easily removed with siphon or other forms of suction. Its both on my sandbed and some rock work. Im very confused as to what it could be and how to clean it up and keep it gone. Any suggestions are appreciated thanks!!

Most likely cyano bacteria and not algae.
Post a pic for proper id.
If it's cyano. It can be rid of by increasing flow in the area where it's growing keeping the nutrients down and maybe killing the lights for 3 days. Worst case scenario chemi Clean will take care of it.
