I’ve been dosing phyto for about 2 weeks, to help in my fight with dinos. Today while cleaning the glass I noticed these little green flakes spread all over the sand. The all look the same; same size, same color.

I’m going to ease off on the phyto for a while but I’d like to know if it’s really cause by it or something else. I’m also dosing silicate and Microbacter7.

Thanks !

It might be Ulva. Probably brought in with something, probably not caused by anything you are doing.

Thanks ! It’s weird I haven’t added anything in months, except today but I doubt it can grow that fast… And I dipped the coral.

Any tips on how to control / eliminate it ? I have many snails, hermits, shrimps but I doubt they’ll eat it. Kole tang doesn’t seem interested and it’s my only herbivore fish for now.

If it is ulva, maybe the tang hasn't discovered it yet? I know in my tank, everytime I've put in some (bigger pieces than your photo) the tangs destroy it almost immediatly.
