They multiply like rabbits and unlike the Aiptasia that my shrimp ate these do not live on rocks but only in the sand bed. If they sense you getting close to them they shoot into

the sand bed. I trying gabbing a clump of sand that one shoot into and there was nothing there. They are somewhat flat like a rock anemone but ugly

. I think I will call them sand anemones but I still would like to get rid of them. They would shoot into the sand to fast to use lemon juice.

Wow never seen those before curious to hear what they are maybe some one will chimme in with some knowledge on the matter

I did a search and hard to tell. Majano do not seems as flat these are as flat as a zoonanthid or play. Also there are none on rocks only in the sand bed. I was changing reactor yesterday and while in the sump I looked up and it almost seems as though they have there feet stuck onto the glass on the bottom of the tank. My sand bed is maybe 3-4" deep and these anemones are about the size of a dime. While looking more into the tank there is an area in the back which is hard to get. There must be dozens of them. I thought it was a group of my tourquise plays that fell and started to multiply.

Halcampa nems known predators are fire shrimp.... Hth

They seem like that may be the family. They are anemones that have there foot and stalk under the sand and are ugly. But there is a difference a few articles listed the number of tenticles as 10. The ones in my tank have much more than that. But I think that may be the family. I have 2 blood shrimp is that the same as fire shrimp? None of my shrimp give these anemones a second glance.

You could always remove your sand and add some new... It says they won't go to rocks because there foot isn't sticky they can't attach.... I would scoop out a big part with a net and get one out for examination.... Have you tried kalk paste in a turkey Baster or anything??

Have not heard of the kalk paste thing. I have Kalk mix and a baster what next. I looked into the sand burrowing anemones and there are several types. I am sure that is the group. They have some preditors listed, none I was familiar with so you do not know if they would be reef safe since I also have a few anemones I do want.

Thanks guys I have been tring to search these things but not sure what to google but after the Halcampa name it gave my the sand burrowing anemone types, which gives me hits.
