I have a clown in my tank and want to add another one, I'm not sure if male or female or what it is. I would like to add a lightning or tomato if possible.

That looks like a Percula to me. IME Maroon's and Tomatoes are more aggressive and might pick on this guy.

I've never had a percula with one so I can't say for certain but I don't think I would put em together unless you have a large tank.

It's only a 60g cube so not that big,I want to add something different then your normal looking clown but I'm not sure what my options are.

Like Reefing Madness said you need to have 2 of the same genus. If the tank was 150g or larger I'd say your ok. It might get along with an occelaris but not totally sure.

As far as your options go, get another percula. Return or sell the percula and get a pair of lightnings or tomatoes. Snowflake occelaris have come down to great prices, great looking addition to any reef imo.

Definitely don't mix with any maroon or tomato they will kill it. As said keep the same family of it or rehome it and get a pair you want.

If you do get a lightning maroon pair it with a Morse code maroon or a white stripe maroon. They are from same location and the best for pairing up with a lightning you'll want the lightning to be female. We have a lightning n Morse code together. This was per Matt from the lightning project and our conversation.

I had also thought about a maroon and gold but heard they can be aggressive with other fish

I've kept a false percula with a cinnamon before - in a 115g system. The cinnamon - a very territorial fish - never harmed the false who was much smaller - but the false was definately a second class citizen in the tank and couldn't get near any anenome - even the ones not actively hosted by the cinnamon.
