Found this when I got home in my live rock as a hitchhiker .... can anyone tell me what type of crab this is?

What color is it? I can't tell from the pic. My guess is an emerald crab or related Mithraculus species, typically reef safe ish, though there are some reports of them picking on corals.

Thank you.... the color of the crab is brown... one claw was bigger than the other and was black on the pincher

Emerald crab. Generally green, I have a green one and a red one. They will eat algae / especially bubble and clean detritus and uneaten foods. Make sure to keep them fed and happy or they will attack fish and or corals to get what they need.

Thank you... I definitely will keep it fed

Thank you... I will

Thank you

Imo that needs to be in your sump, it has sharp tips, not spoon shaped like a mithrax / emerald.
Thank you... I put it into my sump
