What type of crab is this?

I found this hitchhiker in a RFA I got from a private collector. Lucky it didn't end up in my tank. The RFA came in a PVC cap.
Any ideas what it is and is it safe.

This is the best picture I have of him. I can try for more if needed. He is living in a cool whip bowl at the moment.
