I bought this from a LFS about 8 months back as a indo gold torch. It was grouped with others that had the more traditional yellowish gold color. This torch is purple with orange/gold coloring. Does this just fall under the umbrella of gold torch? It also has green stripes inside by its mouth.

The photo isn't great..... can you dry one not completely saturated in actinics?

That’s the only way to get the coloring to come out. Of all the corals I have it seems these are the hardest to get pictures of. What you see in this picture is close to what it looks like by eye, except the orange coloring is brighter, more pronounced.

I do have an orange filter I could try.

Orange filter shot, pretty close to how it looks by eye, but the orange is not as bright in the pic.

Right. We don’t need to see “to get the coloring out” using actinics. It’s easier to identify under a more daylight spectrum.

Sometime people refer to it as dragon's soul torch. I have one similar but has hint of green near the tips.

Mine turned into a solid gold under ATI t5 and morph into dragon's soul under radion.

I do have this under a Radion. Interesting note on this torch. I had to move it into the back of my tank and it was getting very little light. It turned almost black in color and lost all the orange tones. Since moving it back into the light it continues to develop more orange.

It should color up more gold under our reef lights! It’s a dragon soul, but almost seems to have a little orange in it.

Cool torch none the less

I have a similar one. I was told it was a indo red dragon torch. It’s a deep violet red/purple with gold tentacles and blue tip.
