BUMP for new users!

wish i went with 4-6 t5s. IMO nothing beats the color of T5s. instead i went 150 hqis, and i am in much need of replacing my bulbs. there is also a 65 watt CF actinic bulb being driven by a workhorse 5. i dont know if its being overdriven, but its blue and thats all that matters :)

When some one votes it bumps it! :)

I currently have only compact florescents. I have a 29gal tall w/ 65watts of 50/50 cf's. Only a few fish and mushrooms, gsp, xenia, blue clove polyps, and some leathers. Been thinking about upgrading a little. Based on the poll it sounds like I should try t-5's. Has anyone run t-5's w/ cf's? Any suggestions?

MH only on my 90 cube (1-250W Radium on HQI). Looking at nano's now and will likely go T5. I'd really like to reduce my energy costs, but T5s would not be cost effective for my 90 cube.

Wow, these Poll results really surprised me. T5s are finally starting to get the respect they deserve!!! Love my 6 bulb Tek 5!!!

Sunpod 150W Phoenix 14K on my 29 Biocube....looking into adding maybe a couple of T5 for some actinic dawn dusk action plus to cut down on the time the sunpod is on....any suggestions?

2) 250W AC 14K SE MH and 4) 54W Actinic+ T5s in a Giesemann Spectra fixture. If I had it my way, I would use VHO over T5s for actinics but the Germans aren't down with that. ;)

Main tank is 3x250w Phoenix 14k in LumenMax 3 DE Pendants on Bluewave HQI ballasts, with 2x54w T5HO just to extend the lighting period.Haddoni Anemone cube is a single Giesemann Coral 150w MH, and sump-fuge-refuge is a 6x54w Tek T5HO light.

Aquaillumination LED's

I'm now running Aquaillumination LED's on my 240 mixed and can't believe the color and growth rate since I switched from MH and T5's on my 75 mixed.

Plus I'm not spinning the electric meter like before.

150w Phoenix 14k DE MH on my 30g cube. PC lighting on the 29g mushroom/softy tank, 2 65w (1 Actinic & 1 10k) and 1 55w (10k).

Cool! Any pics?

DIY LED Fixture with 5 x Cree Q5's (6700k) and 8 x Cree XR-E Blues (460nm). Punches with PAR to spare on a modded NanoWave 9 gallon.

Currently I have 1 x 400w Helios 20k over my 58 gallon and i just purchased some T5's that I have to install next week. I have been running the 400w only for over two years now and was very pleased but I want to try and use some other combos of colors to see if I can make the colors pop more.
