What type of sps is this?

Check this piece out. I got it from aquasd about 2 yrs ago. We thought it might be a spathulata but now i don't think so.

Unknown, will got it in one of his shipments from australia or asia.

I've been babying it from .5" for quite some time. It just keeps getting better....i like to refer to it as "juicy fruit" but i made that up...

Thanks, right now it is for sure. It always was nice but i hope these colors stay as it gets bigger. And i hope it starts to finally project and grow...

Happens to me alot when i get corals grown under sunlight or halides. I run leds and t5s. The coral often browns out, resets, and then comes back looking different. This one never browned out, it was glorious when i bought it, and it's changed colors ever since. Going from ai sol blue plus t5s to hydra52 plus t5s really made it mature.

I can do LPS but I agree SPS is pretty tough.

It's at the highest point in my tank right now. It's tough to photograph top downs in my tank though. Wish i had a par meter, i've been acclimating the corals to new lights and new system for about 4 mths now.

I probably have space to elevate it with a flat rock or something. Just afraid to move it. It's right next to a spathulata that is gold yellow but taller...

Actually i need a better pic i think. Fstop was too low on this one, we need focus on the base too...

And i need to put a frag plug in there to get some white so i can balance it better...

IMO it looks more like a millepora or prostrata rather than a tenuis. Regardless it is a beautiful piece that I would be interested in the future if you decide to frag a piece.

Sure, we'll see if it ever starts growing! I don't know about milli, the polyps are kindof rosette instead of stringy, but i have a dozen or so frags/colonies that i call milli that might not be!
