What type of urchin is this?

My friend bought this urchin and said it is a false fire urchin he got at his lfs to combat his green hair algae problem. I thought it was beautiful and was looking for one possibily for my tank but I hear they are extremely venomous. From the pics I saw online it looks nothing like what I saw on google. It has short purplish/pinkish spines. I said to him how did you get something that venomous into the tank and he said he just picked it up and put it in no problem. Idk how the heck he did that if it would have stung him. Any idea what type this is? Thanks!

Looks like a pincushion but I'm no expert. I have a long spine, I found it's much easier to use a bowl or something to gently scoop my out, keeps my hands from being stabbed
