I use plain old 5% White Vinegar. I way underdose though - 20 ml per day.
I only have the 6% cleaning and apple cider kind I will get some regular this weekend.
Read you can use sugar too. Think the honey would work hahaha.
 
I recommend cheap distilled white vinegar. Other vinegars are not better, and have other organic compounds in them which are likely benign, but there's no reason to risk them.

FWIW, I'm not a fan of sugar and don't recommend it.

I’m sure you’ve written about it before, but why is sugar not recommended?
Does it have to do with the amount of carbon in it vs something vinegar or vodka or is it more to do with how those carbs feed certain things better than others?

I’ve never really gone down the carbon dosing rabbit hole

IME, it browned up corals, and I think it is less widely used by organisms than is acetate in vinegar.
