What UV intensity is required to kill Dinoflagellates?

I have been wondering what the correct Minimum UV intensity is to eliminate dinos?

I have picked up a UV sterilizer that provides 30,000 microwatts/sec/sq.cm at 1000 liters per hour. I am running it at less than half this currently.

how many watts is your uv and how many gallons is your tank?
you will want a slow enough rate to kill them..

I have a 20w running at about 300lph.

But that's not what I am asking. I want to know the actual dose of radiation required.

i dont think anyone is going to have an exact number for one, there are many species of Dinos's most people target a certain rate and play with the rate a little bit.. the uv will only get them while they are in the water column.
plus you always have a sink of them in display tank

my 300 gallon reef has 2 120 watt uvs on it... one is set at about 300 gph the other is around 1000gph.. if i had dinos i would run the second one much slower like 200 gph then fiddle with them from there

i would also manually remove and consider peroxide or other means to get the dinos into the uv

In general it's 1 watt to 3 gallons and reduce the flow through the UV. Be sure to turn off UV for an hour when dosing Phyto and pods
