What was that white cloud

I got a baster today and was cleaning up my rock when from deep in a hole I got a large cloud of white.
Was that just Calcium carbonate?

More likely just to be a build up of detritus I think. Only other thing that happened to me was a snail spawning caused a large cloud once.

This was me squirting water into hole in what was dry rock. But possibly detritus.

It’s detritus and dust from the rock. My dry rocks do the same thing, my real live rock has much less of anything coming out of it. Are you using Caribsea Life Rock?

My life rock is of the GBR

My Marco rock does this when I blast it too.

As long as it's not harmful.
But I shucked out the hole and dumped the white water down the drain
