I feel like we all remember the time when we first added something to our tank, whether it is a fish or even coral. I am wondering what was the first coral you ever added to your tank, and is it still around in your tank? Curious to know everyone's input!

I bought my 1st two corals at the same time: GSP and Cespitularia ... they looked so pretty in the LFS tank, but no one warned me that they both can spread like wild fire!

I think a blastomussa? Not sure. I added a few corals at the same time to my first tank a few years ago, trying to remember which went in first. There was the blasto, a torch, some zoas, and a candy cane. I added them into a 2 week nano tank with only a small CUC and AIO filtration, can you guess what happened to them? Needless to say, I had plenty of little white rocks rolling around in that tank after a while.

GSP back in the 80's, followed by a Leather. LPS was next, think it was a Brain of some sort.

First coral was a frag of unknown table Acro found still alive on a piece of live rock. Still had polyps. And then quickly died in my tank that was a couple weeks old. The next was a pink colt coral. Survived a few years under power compacts from 04-07 then I moved.

I think one of my first was a toadstool. It was less than an inch in diameter. I got it to like 16+" before a tank move and it died away. I still have a frag of it, but it is not the same. Here is a picture of it close to 16"

It was three zoas about a week ago.

Mushrooms. Green ones. Because there was a video on GARF about how easy it was to frag them.

Side note, they were the ones who got me interested with the hobby years ago. I was kinda sad to see that they shut it all down.

Xenia was the first. It started growing fast, nearly doubled in size until my coral beauty decided it had to go. I was really mad at that fish at the time - but later realized he saved us from an invasion :p

First Coral was a green hammer, I ordered it online through Etsy for like 40$. Was so excited when I got one with two heads, it has now tripled in size about a year later and has 6 or so heads! There’s just something about the satisfaction of knowing your corals are happy and healthy especially through the ups and downs of this hobby.
