I've just started a new tank and the very first coral in it was an Acro...

It took me back and reminded me of my actual first coral which gave me some nostalgic thoughts... I thought I'd make you think and give you a bit of nostalgia too

Mine was in 1983, carnation coral, dendronephthya sp

Another really great thread! If I remember right, it was a duncan that I had in the 29 biocube. Just one head when I got it and took quite awhile to take off. Now it resides in the 125 and has too many heads to count. It's actually 2 duncans now.

Xenia

I bought a BTA and they couldn't get it off the rock it was attached to. They charged me $5 extra for the rock. The rock had a tiny Xenia, an emerald crab, and introduced bristle worms into my tank. I got rid of the Emerald crab after I caught it eating zoas. The bristle worms are prolific and the Xenia is actually a nice lavender color and still thriving on the rock.

Mine was a devil’s hand leather that I got for free from an in-laws neighbor that was moving out of state.

Less than a year ago, a torch coral and a single head hammer. They've been been through a lot and the torch looked like crap many times, but they're still with me and going strong :)

The hammer has 3 heads now, torch is still a single head.

Green button polyps. They are no longer with me, i personally am not a zoa or paly fan, so do not have either in my tank. Tanks of them look great, just not my taste. But these particular ones were kinda ugly.

WWC Torch coral, a simple purple with green tips, thought it was the coolest thing I have ever seen at that time.

Green star polyps and I was freaked out when the lfs employee removed it from the water.

Palys or mushrooms. I don't remember which was first. April 2007
