K ill look those overDon’t use tap, get a rodi system. There’s lots of threads on here of the different ones depending on your needs
Okay ill do that then eventually i will get a rodi system. Its a 20 gallonInitially you can usually get premade salt water from a lfs, it's around $.50 to $1.50 per gallon depending on the size of your tank it may or may not be cheaper than buying a rodi unit and salt for start up. However eventually you will want a rodi system. It makes topping off so much easier.
Then you are better off initially getting water from the LFS. It'll probably cost you around 35-40 dollars depending on whether or not you already have containers. A rodi unit is going to cost around 100 on the cheap end and then you'll have to add the cost of salt.Okay ill do that then eventually i will get a rodi system. Its a 20 gallon
I have the basic ro system from bulk reef supply. Attaches to my faucet, it works!Do i use tap water then poor the saltwater stuff in or dose it havet to be a certain type?

Um depends on your fish, if you have borrowers then you will want it deeper. I would try 10 pounds to start and add or take out if you need to.Cool ill look at those to. Real quick unrelated question how much sand do you need at the bottom for a 20 gallon tank.

OkayGoing to chime in with others and say get an RODI unit when you can. They are well worth the cost overtime. Don't have to keep lugging water from your lfs and can just have the water made at home for you.
