What water parms are important to track?

So my app only allows me to track 12 parms. I want to start tracking trace elements. Bought test kit and liquids today..What water parm should i remove aka replace with the trace element potassium?

Shouldn't need to track nitrite and ammonia after cycle is complete.

Dont necessarily need to track temp but a quality heater controller is a good idea

Most important:Temperature and salinity.
If you have corals, add: Alkalinity, calcium, magnesium, nitrAte, phosphate. You can add in a bunch of other things as you progress, but those will cover pretty much everything you'll worry about if you are doing regular water changes. Folks that try to minimize water changes often use ICP tests for a much broader spectrum of elements.
Temperature can vary a bit, but you are going to want to keep your salinity stable. That will help you to keep all of the other parameters stable.

Iodien is not a trace element, but is fine to track (I have). It usually depletes rapidly, and I personally do not think it worth dosing in most tanks.

Iron isn't typically detectable by kit unless you are dosing way more than I recommend. Few trace elements are actually detectable by kit at NSW levels.

Hmm interesting. Sounds like importancy of dosing these trace Es may be propaganda. Hmmm.my research on these elements iron iodine and potass is showing this. Most of the internet says dont need to track the or dose

IMO, it is useful to get a test of the levels of trace elements from an ICP company such as Triton to see what you may need and what you may not.

I dose my trace elements via red sea trace colors. Don't test travel elements just follow the calculator for CA consumption and dose accordingly
