hey guys i need your help finding anything that will eat this calcium based algae. I cant remember the exact name of it but maybe these pictures will help. i know most inverts/fish wont eat calcium based algae but i need something, it keeps getting worse and i dont want to mess with my water chemisty unless i absolutely have to in fear of killing my corals. anyway here are a pic.

Honestly, the best way I found to get rid of this is to get in there and pick it off... I just pulled the rock out, ripped the bad stuff off with my fingers. Since there was no coral on my rock yet, I did this in freshwater. I'm not sure if that helped kill it, but I have not seen it since!

It may seem drastic, but if you really want it gone, you may have to rip it out yourself.

Try an Atlantic Pincushion Urchin "Lytechinus variegatus". They are cheap, nice looking, and don't do so much bulldozing damage as other's do.

Long spine urchins are amazing. I don't know they would eat that but they eat every thing else. Be ware. They also eat coralline.

ok guys im still in need of some serious help! got a long spine urchin back in sept and although it has nearly doubled in size it hasnt touched this stuff. the algae is spreading to all the rocks now and i gotta find something that will eat this stuff!
