I just fixed my apc pro 700 battery backup. just pondering what would be best to plug into it. Im sure yall have many surge protectors like I do. So what to put on back up power (red dots) and what to put on surge protection is my question (purple dots) i also included a pic of my plug set up.

Circulation pumps and protein skimmer as it oxygenates water while doing it's work.

In the short term, you can do without lights and heaters.

You would probably want a GFCI to be plugged in-line with the battery protected port you use, otherwise it’s a shock hazard. I would plug in a circulation pump and heater (if needed to maintain temp) to that. Surge protect ones, you can plug whatever in.

The goal is to give you enough time to come up with a different plan.
