What single led fixture would you choose?

I'm deciding what fixture to get, please help me out. Assume they all cost the same, what would you choose and why? It will be lighting a 30lx30wx18h tank, SPS dominate with lps at the bottom.

I'm a huge fan of kessil. Id do an ap700. The shimmer, and spectral blending, plus the sleek look and various mounting options. I have one and love it
 
If you’re going LED only, with no T5 supplementation, then go with the Orphek Atlantic V4. I feel the LEDs dispersed throughout the entire panel does a better job of reducing shadows than puck style emitters. This is especially true if you will be keeping a lot of SPS corals.
 
That is a very difficult tank to light... especially for a point source. Shadowing is a real issue. I would look for something wider, but if that is your list, then the Atlantic (my choice) or 700 since they are kinda in the main stream and might be around. ATI LEDs never really took off and that unit is discontinued now.
 
I would probably get a mitras 7206 for the spread, but its not on your list. You wouldn't need a controller and its wireless and OH you can use the power from channels that you are not using that much to overdrive others that you are using.

From what I know about the LX7, two should be a bit more than just enough. If you were to add T5 supplements it would be even better but it’s not a necessity.
 
With that shallow of a tank, you may be able to get away with one, but I would get 2 for good measures. You could grow what ever you wanted and then some.

$2300 for two lights is too much for me. If one would work, I would go that or the Orphek.

I know it’s not the LED solution that you’re looking for, but a perfect light that will fully cover your 30x30x18 tank would be an 8x24 ATI Sunpower T5 fixture. Add a couple of Reefbrite Blue XHO strips using 0-10v control for ramping (sunrise/sunset features) if you want and this set up will outgrow any of the single fixture LED choices that you have listed IMO.

It sure would and thats why i have a Giesemann matrix II 54w over my larger display. T5 are great and all, but I would love to try something different on this tank.
I have also been thinking a Giesemann Infiniti or spectra, but the heat of a halide does concern me, not so much heating up the tank as I have a chiller but heating up the hot lounge room even more. Will a 250w halide heat up a room and or be uncomfortable to be around?

250 Watt MH's give off heat, but nothing to worry about. This one fixture would be all that you need.

If you go for that ping me. I have a bunch of MH balasts in storage.
 
30x30 spread needs reflectors, IMO. Although you did not ask, look at a large-reflector smaller wattage MH setup... or a 8-10 bulb T5 up a little bit higher. Either of these get really cost effective when you are looking at a pair of panels to handle the front/back spread.

This is a hard tank to light with panels without a lot of shadowing. Good luck.

Those would work just fine. Honestly, even a pair of 26HD would work. You’ll be a lot better off with the 52s though in terms of PAR blanketing and strength. Probably a tad less shadowing as well.
