Hey everyone! I wanted to get feedback and opinions on my tank and growth progression of my corals, specifically LPS. I have had this tank for about three years but have only had softies until a few months ago. Now I am getting addicted to LPS, but I am not sure if my growth rate is what it should be. My tank specs are as follows:
Tank - Red Sea Max 250 66gal
Lighting- LEDs 85W 455nm and 14,000K w/ 90 degree optics (blues on 11am off 7pm, whites on 12pm off 5pm) replaced the stock T5s that came with tank. They are in the hood and so are sitting only 2 in. above the water.
Flow- 2 return pumps(600gph & 240gph) plus a 1050gph powerhead
Params- Salinity 1.026
Nit- 0ppm
Phos- 0ppm
Calc- 480ppm
Alk- 9dkh (was at 8 last week but brought it up gradually because I also have a couple SPS)
Mag- 1400
Water changes- 20% every 3 weeks (w/ RO/DI)
Feeding- Flakes 1xday, spot feed Fuana marin pellets every night when lights turn off, and oyster feast, reef snow alternating days
Dosing- 1 drop Lugols and 2ml of Phols Xtra (started 1 month ago) daily
Any suggestions or feedback would be appreciated!
