What would you do with these sump/refugium areas?

I have done the basic setup on my new Red Sea S-850 and I have started cycling it. I have the 'aux' sump area connected to the main sump as I don't plan to use it for ATO reservoir/etc. So I basically have 2 sump compartments that could be used as refugium space.

I plan to use the aquarium as the basic 'mixed reef' with mostly soft/lps corals.

The smaller space in the main sump is 9.5" x 16" and I currently have some leftover marco rocks rubble on the bottom of it. The 'aux' sump is 14.5" x 21" and it's empty for now.

I'm looking for suggestions on how to setup/configure these sump/refugium spaces? What would you use the space for and why?

Thanks.

I would leave it empty until a need arises. For example, if you feel the need to add a macroalgae refugium for nutrient export you could add it further down the road.

I would set up the separate sump as the refugium with macro, sponges, and live rock. I would put it here because you can light the macro and control light bleed into your other sump. Plus, macro next to your filter socks can become a problem when trying to change them.
