So I haven't posted about this, but now I'm curious what would you do?
I recently started a new tank a 150 tall (48x24x30). When I started filling it, I noticed one of the side panels was not square, the bottom of the panel is not flush where the top is. You can't really tell by looking at it from a distance, but when you run you finger over the seams you can tell. I contacted the company and told them what I found and just asked if it was going to be an issue, then if it is what are they prepared to do about it since it would be a manufacturing defect. They ask me to send pictures so I do.
So a long long long time goes by (just under 6 weeks to be exact). Several unanswered emails and then this morning, I get this response.
"Thanks for your emails and included pictures. My apologies for the delayed response. Would you be so kind as to confirm the size of your tank, along with your shipping address and phone number? While the anomaly doesn’t appear to pose a structural threat, we’d be happy to reimburse you to replace the tank as a courtesy. If you have additional questions, feel free to reply to this email, or to call us ....."
So I don't know what to think of that answer, "it's not an issue, but we'll send ya some money anyway." Sounds like a political non-answer answer to me.
Replacing the tank just sounds like a pain, especially since it's starting to settle in, but the "play it safe guy" in me says replace the tank. The ethical person in me says if it's not an issue, don't send me money. The little devil on my shoulder says "take the money and go buy livestock!"
so, what would you do?
