What would you start with?

55 gallon, been running for a little over 3 weeks. Added a small did.

Gonna wait about 4 weeks to add any more fish, but just trying to figure out what would be best to start with while the tank is young.

My wife wants a pair of clowns, not sure if they're a good starter or maybe something less expensive.

Clowns are a good start actually .. they are a hardy fish ... blue /green chromis are also a good starter fish imo !!

Fang blenny. Active throughout water column, curious, reef safe, and peaceful with most every type of fish (except other fang blennies).

I started with 3 blue/green chromis (hardy and inexpensive, only danger to themselves), waited for a week to see how they did and then eventually added a pair of clowns and progressed like that

Imo if the tank is properly cycled put together a list of fish you want and that will do ok in a 55 gallon tank and start with the least aggressive fish and work your way down the list adding the most aggressive fish last.

Ya liveaquaria.com will give you minimum tank size in the fish info. Also they will list the nature of the fish ( peaceful semi aggressive and aggressive) a comparability chart ect
