What your most expensive fish?

Umm I haven't ever paid more than 325 for a fish. $300 is my arbitrary cutoff notwithstanding taxes. I probably have a dozen or two fish at that price range.

Value wise my Red Sea regal angel Goliath in his giant glory would probably command 4-500 retail. I paid only 220
Lucky guy.

What your most expensive fish? and whats the most expensive fish you've seen

Most expensive would be my Golden angel and most expensive I've see is this...

In my 300 gallon I have a gem tang, black tang, purple tang, crosshatch trigger and a lightning maroon all living happily together as well as a host of other fish

For salties, it's my extreme snowflake clownfish pair, at $75 for the pair. For freshwater, I bought a trio of copper hm bettas, back when metallic bettas were brand new and they ran a couple hundred. I had more disposable income as a teen!

My boss offered me a gem tang for $100 if I set up a big enough tank for it, but I passed.

I don't have a saltwater tank yet, but my most expensive freshwater fish I ever bought was a 2" Blue snakeskin discus for $60. I know that is a drop in the bucket compared to these other examples.

I have a pair of these beauties thanks to the awesome guys at sea and reef!

Most expensive I bought was a male flame wrasse. Arrived DOA. Then the replacement died pretty much as soon as I opened the bag. In total I wasted $355 for the fish and 2x shipping, and they didn't offer refunds on replacements. So my current most expensive fish is my female flame wrasse for $129.

Most expensive I've seen was the Peppermint Angel in Hawaii.

Unlucky :(

My most expensive fish, two fish, was my Candy Basslet pair for $1600. I had them for years. I lost one then about a year later lost the other. I had to have another so I got one from a fellow reefer selling his DD Candy. I got a good deal on that one.

Dr Seuss soap fish. Had him for 6 years and left eggcrate off after cleaning. Woke up to carpet cleaner.

That fish costs more than most people's cars. That must have been a sad day!

Truth be known, I actually put off buying a much needed car for another year just so I could afford him. Waited 3 years before buying to make sure my tank was perfect so as not to lose him. First time (and last) that I ever leave an opening. Doubly sad was my mystery wrasse also was on the floor the same day....
