I'm currently changing water with a 2.5 gallon bucket and I don't like this way :P

How do y'all change water?

I have the first section of my sump after draindown holds just atad over 10G's. I have a small pump down there that I just hook another longer hose to(Banjo fitting). I then just run the longer hose to my sink, turn on the pump and drain off roughly 10G's.

I then just drag another hose from my mixing station to my sump. Turn on that pump and fill to a line on my sump.

Takes me all of 5 minutes to do WC's.

Auto Water changes using Neptune Apex DOS. I change 2 gallons a everyday over 24 hours.

I have a 40gal tank so a 5 gal bucket that is not quite full is ~10%. I use a siphon with a gravel vacuum tube to get the water out and a tiny $10 pump to get water back in. Would normally be about 5 minutes of work but I always take the opportunity to clean the glass and any other maintenance so it ends up taking longer.

I have a 50 gal display so it’s easy enough to do a ten percent water change every week the old school way. I fill up a five gallon bucket with new salt water and syphon out my tank into another five gallon bucket. I sometimes use a small wet dry vac to clean out my sump. I only do 10% at a time now because I’m a novice and still not sure how to match all my levels aside from matching the temp and last time I did a 20% water change my coral got pretty upset.

It's not going to get any easier than a 2.5 G bucket. Get a small pump to unload and load the water in and out of the tank/sump

5 gal buckets to remove the water because my sink isn't compatible with a python. To put water back in I have a 75 foot hose that I drag up from the basement connected to a 55g drum and a panworld pump.

My tank is only 50 gallons so pretty low tech. I have two 5 gallon buckets, one for dirty water, one for fresh saltwater. I got some nice bucket dollies so I don't have to carry heavy buckets full of sloshing water. I wheel the waste water bucket over to the tank, use a python gravel vac with one of those bulbs on the end to start the syphon, suck water out until it's about 3 inches from the top of the bucket, throw a lid on it and wheel it back to the laundry room. Grab my other bucket that has an MJ1200 mixing away in it already, wheel it to the tank, pop a hose on the pump, plug it in and pump the new water into the tank. Job done.

Cleaning glass and blowing off rocks takes some time but the actual water change takes 10 minutes tops.

I do the 5 gallon bucket method too. I just consider it my workout haha

Siphon into 5 gallon bucket
Dump bucket in toilet
Pump water from brute trash can (on wheels) into tank

the pump and the wheeled brute trash can make it way easier

I use a 20 gallon yellow brute type container with wheels and a gravel vac if I’m also cleaning my sand bed and also use a ryobi water pump to remove and put back water

AutoAqua AWC - the best investment!
