Ok, I just bought a used 65 gallon tank. Not set up yet. Trying to save a few bucs to purchase a few more things. I'm upgrading a 29 gallon to the 65. The lights that came with the canopy are t5 ho 4 bulb set up. My question is what corals can I get and am If I can keep corals will it only support softies? Also, my power head in my 29 is a 530 gph. Can I use that and add another? Thanks!!!

you can have pretty much any coral you want. and you can use that powerhead but yes i would add more. a rw8 would do nicely added to that 530.

NO SPS or LPS for at least 6 months. Leather after 3 months and mushrooms after 2 months. IMO this is pushing it. You want a mature tank not just a cycled one. Slow Slow Slow Please. Have Fun and be patient :cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::D:D

I think you can keep a lot but start with simple corals take your time make sure system can age and build it up I wouldn't jump into Sps till your sure system can handle softies and lps . but depends a lot on other equipment you have protein skimmer is probably second most important besides lights . ya more power heads would help to. Looking forward to seeing it

One advice I wish I knew is that take your time and buy the best equipment you can afford from the beginning it will save you a lot of money in the long run. I think you can keep almost any coral running those t5s.

Thanks guys!! My next question is should I run 2 whites and 2 blue? 2 whites, 1 blue, and 1 pink?? There prolly a million different combos.

Does anyone have a t5 ho 4 bulb light? What do you run in it? Can I see pics?

What would grow corals better? 2 whites 2 blues? 3 whites 1 blue? Throw a pink in there? I've never had a t5 ho light before. Need some suggestions. Also I've never seen a tank in person with t5 ho lights. I'm new to this and even my lfs has leds. My 20 long reef has leds. So t 5ho lights are a big question mark to me. Lol. Thanks guys
