Whats your Perferred test. What I use apex trident, Hanna alk, Hanna phosphate, Red Sea calcium pro, nyos nitrate, salifert mag. What do you use?

hanna: ph, alk, cal, hr no3, ulr po4. thinking of getting the phosphorus ULR...
aquaforest: mag.
tropic marine: hydrometer(SG)

i started with using the red sea kit (alk/cal/mag/no3/po4), and BRS refractometer. i have them all as a backup whenever i believe a test came out wrong.

Hannah: HR Nitrate, ULR phosphate
salifert: CA,ALK,MAG
PH and temp monitored by apex
milkaukee digital refractometer and tropic marin hydrometer for salinity

Apex seems to test pH, Temp, and ORP perfectly fine. Worthless for salinity. Everything else I use Hanna.

Salifert. 4 years now and only 1 faulty test along the way. Replaced the calcium test and never a problem again.

No3 - Salifert (not nyos!)
Po4 - Hanna ULR
Alk - Hanna

mostly red sea with the exception of nutrients like N and P.
red sea pro for calcium and alk.
nitrates in the red sea kit is near useless, so i use nyos who has a easier to determine color chart
phosphate also use nyos. not too many phosphate kits out there, and nyos is the one locally i could find, but is easy enough to use

Do you have any issues with the Hanna cal checker

Salifert for just about everything because it’s cheap and reliable. The only one that doesn’t work for me is the phosphate test.
I use the Hanna wand for salinity.

personally, no. i've had more issues with the ph checker than anything else... i bought a mc120 to monitor ph, but i'm not going to use it until i finally upgrade to my 75G

Is the orp worth having I don’t know much about orp probes that could prolly be a whole other tread lol
