One fish I'm looking at getting is a mandarin goby, and was wondering what I could do to expedite the process... Knowing that it will take at least 6 to 8 months to get a good breeding population of both.

Threre is a cool diy feeder you can make for Mandarin and slower fish. Just do a search for Sea horse or Mandarin feeder and you will see it.

Provide an area of dense macro algae, feed phytoplankton, avoid competing fish (those fish that also eat pods).
