So decided to look at the coral skelotons. I noticed the typical feather dusters and possible sponge, but a couple things I never seen.

First at the base is a criss cross pattern that has appendages coming from it and spade like forms at the ends.

Next is this red potrussion. Looks like feather duster but never seen one with red shell.

I am not sure about these 2 but main curiosity is the first picture.

The red thing is likely a Benthic foraminifera. As for the spikey worm thing, some sort of polychaete but let's call in the expert :)

Thanks seems to be that. Posted other pics as well on my tanks page, but was definetly curious. The zig zag almost looks like its etched in.

Yeah, benthic foraminiferan, and either a Hesionid or Syllid worm; neither kind of worm would be bad:
Thank you. Im leaning toward Syllid worm after looking them up. At close look i can see the appendages are actually curled.

Yeah, there are a few of both that look pretty similar, but Syllid is a solid guess, particularly within the Eusyllinae subfamily.

Thank you. I was stumped and couldnt figure out and finding things is usually my niche. But since I was looking at it wrong, it roadblocked me. Probably still wouldnt have gotten it lol.
