What's going on

I have a fish that seems to be either getting bitten or its flesh is being eaten can someone please help me I snapped a pic of its injury...it was a ball before then blew up I guess so confused!!!

Have you added any new fish lately? Specifically chromis? That looks a bit like Uronema marinum... although both a bacterial infection or just an injury is certainly possible as well.

What type of damsel is that? Is it a recent addition to the tank?
