Whats going on?

I noticed one of my polyps was looking strange, when I look closer, looks like the zoa is spilling out its guts. Has anyone came across this issue before? Or if there's already a thread on this, can you point me in the right direction ? Only this one polyp is affected, everything else looks normal. Thanks for any info

Looks like it’s expelling zooxanthella . If your lights are more intense than where you purchased them the zoa may have had an excess in zoo growth so they expel it.

Just monitor it and see , are other polyps open ?

Thanks for the reply, yes everything else is open and looks normal at the moment. The frag came from a system with a kessil ap700 into a kessil Ap9x. I have about a month with the frag and this came out of nowhere. The other polyp is even budding. But ill keep an eye on them

I know I am pretty late to this but I had a zoa head just spill out its guts and died the next day. Now it was part of like a 10 head colony, so it wasn't really any noticeable difference and the rest of the colony is fine and growing. No clue what caused it to do that though

Will remain a mystery to me. Same frag, the bigger polyp spills the guts, and the smaller polyp just grew tremendously.. even budding a new head.
