Yesterday morning I noticed my goniestra with some tissue recession, I figured my elegance just stung it. But today it has lost almost all its color, my torches are closed up, a green favia is now red, and looks like I have some tissue recession on a trachy. There are some questionable sponges with what look like fiberglass coming out of them. Any ideas what could be my issue? Should I order an ICP or are the sponges my problem?

Parameters all look to be good.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

A few things that can cause this :

-An alk spike
- stung by a coral within 3”
- being on the bottom, sand got on it
- reg or black bugs underneath
- too bright or inadequate lighting

Out of this list, I think Alk spike might be a possibility. I manually dose BRS soda ash, and when I dosed Sunday I accidentally dumped the amount faster than normal. Could adding soda ash quickly to a tank cause the alk spike?

That would likely do it

Looks like I need to pull the trigger on a dosing pump! Do corals usually recover from an alk spike? Any suggestions to help them recover?

Any idea on how to help the corals survive? Corals are still on the decline, looks like I lost a torch last night and a scoly is on its way out.
