The tan stuff is sponge the white calcium based tubes are little feather dusters.

Thanks, second question is they seem to be taking over my Acans how can I stop them? Also I seem to have lots of sponges growing everywhere. This was dry rock that I cured, is this amount of sponges normal?

I don't know if it's a normal amount, but I had some on newer rocks too. It was taking over some zoas so I took a soft toothbrush to it and that seemed to do the trick. You can grab it with you fingers and pull it off too.
