Try bringing it up higher in level in tank and direct flow towards it, not at it. Should perk it up

It's been happy for a couple months now.. but it looks like a spot is eroding on it in the picture?

Could be a infection. Keep a eye on it for grey or black spot developing.

Other than that, it could be ready to shed it's skin. This can happen when irritated. Normal.

What would cause an infection?

Get it up on the rocks, and give it flow! it could be going through a shed, either way Sarcos should be treated like SPS when it comes to flow.

If damage areas do not improve perform a lugols dip.

Question, do leathers like that split by chance??

Yes Sarcophytons can, will and do split as means of spreading/growing

They also will shed a waxy looking skin sometimes and this is actually normal even for healthy ones.

But

First thing I'd do with yours is to get it secured somewhere on the rockwork upright where it receives good flow

Thank you for your reply! I think mine may be splitting it seems, I'll attached a picture. It has good flow where it is now, I was going to attach it soon. I've been getting it acclimated to the lighting. It almost looked like the skin was falling off it.. just now there is a crevice where that was happening and it still is.

I dunno I’ve had them go through that for weeks only to perk up later ...also I’ve never recalled any leathers actually dying ...agreed tho...it looks irritated ... ditto try moving it
