Can anyone explain what's going on with my Montis and other sps?

Appears to be browning out, had lots of color up until recently.

Have had no fluctuations in any of my parameters. Only thing would be temperature that has been up and down from 25.2 degrees to 26.5 but generally is around the 25.5.

All stable as
Alk 8.3
Mag 1400
Calc 450
Salinity 1.026
No3 5
Phosphate 0.05 -0.07 (3 months at this level)

All LPS and soft corals doing great.

Lighting is radion xr15 g5 pro lights and par readings are around 240- 320. Across the top rock work. This hasn't changed.

Those monti aren't browned out; they're dead.

I would send out an ICP and see if there is something else off you aren't testing for.

How long has the tank been setup and how long have the corals been in the tank?

This tank has been set uo for 4 months. They came out if my 2ft that were in there for 6 months.

There is still a nice deep red in areas of the monti. And white on edges so that means it's not dead.

how long have they been in the new tank? What was lighting in the old tank?

Is it possible the leather is touching the monti? leathers will pretty much kill any SPS they touch.

Leather was move but was no where near it originally.

Lights are same its been fine the last 33 months and growth was very rapid.

So we all thinking it's dead? What could have caused this? Weekly water changes good filtration. Using natural sea water.

Definitely both montis in the pic are very dead. A variety of things could have caused it. Again, I'd recommend an ICP test to test for heavy metals, and go from there.

Yeah right.

Spewing were doing so well. Nothing's changed other than temp swing. Everything else is doing really well as well

The temp could be a cause, but unlikely. As long as your corals are used to the temp swings, they should be fine.

My reef sees daily fluctuations from 78 to 80, and as high as 83 during the summer, and my corals have no issues with it.

Tough to say what caused it, monti's are finicky. When they are happy, you can actually watch them adding skeleton. When they are not happy.......

possible contaminant in the natural sea water, maybe....

Bit of a temp swing, I'm set to 26 at the moment to minimise them.

Where are you getting sea water? Collecting or from an LFS that uses it themselves?

Collect from the exact same spot the LFS COLLECT from and filtered through a 5 micron sock. The LFS sell it for $0.26c per litre. So would cost me $18 each water change.

Fan cooled my 400 gallon tank from 81F to 77 at night. Then I installed chiller temp controller on for the fan, and now I get fluctuations from 77.5 to78.2max
All just by using fan
