What's happening to my wrasse?

My red-headed solon wrasse to be specific. He's changing colors, is he transitioning to male? just becoming an adult and out of juvie stage? Is he just flashing and showing off?

He was deep blue with white belly, darker blue on his back with small bit of red/pink on his head.

I took a photo of him just now. he has a lot more orange on his face than what the photo shows. One side is more white, the other is close to what you see in my photo (of course, I can't get accurate colors!)

Tell me the story! Anything I need to do? He is eating like a pig and no health signs that I am aware of.

It's not quite clear to me how the fish has changed. Did the colors change completely or would you say it has more or less faded from what they were?

I just looked at him after typing all that out, and his blue color returned.

What did I just witnessed? Was he just excited I am home so he can be fed? lol.

the blues on his sides were faded to almost all white.

It's just interesting how fish can change so quickly. First I thought he was sick.. then I thought maybe he was changing colors or showing off. but he's back to normal now. So odd.

I've seen many of mine change with their mood. Similar to tangs.

They are happy =darker
Peeved= darker and flashing
Showing off= brighter and flashing

Getting bullied/stressed=usually drab

As my wrasses are excited or stressed, they change the colors and color patterns.
