Whats in my Zoa

Anyone know what the two brown things are growinge in my zoa it definitely opens and closes. So weird looking!

It looks like a sponge, but is it making the Zoas close up

Its not making them close. Zoas are extremely healthy... Just uad to take the picture righht when i turned my lights on because all my zoa polyps cover the brown thing. Ill try to take another pic.
 
I believe those are syphonophores.... commonly called sea squirts. Harmless, but can spread readily, given the right conditions. They actually help with water quality as they are filter feeders. I'D leave em alone unless they bother you aesthetically.
