What's in your 'fuge?

Still trying to decide what to put in my fuge. My LFS really pushes 2" of mineral mud covered by coarse sand, but I've read very mixed reviews of the muds. thoughts? experiences?

Considering porous rocks, maybe some sand, not sure yet. maybe just a deep sand bed? Want to grow pods and macro algae.

my fuge section is approx 40 gallons in capacity

I have a few rocks and a big ball of Chaeto. No mud no sand. I like to vacuum the detritus out when I do water changes.
