I use filter floss, but that's really it. About to sell the never-used skimmer.The black cover keeps most the light out, and my excellent reef keeping skills actually have kept it pretty clean
I attribute my success to my strict routine of zero water changes, no skimmer, and no socks or mechanical filtration
Oh… mine are covered with aiptasia. Both tanks have an aptaisia controller in - my nano has a peppermint shrimp, my 4’ has a YLN Butterfly. But the back chambers are just covered!![]()

Ever try just dumping some boiling water back there? Perhaps dumping is a bad idea. Maybe pipetting boiling water directly onto Aips till they are gradually no more? I find boiling water the best remedy for aiptasia if you can safely nuke them.Oh… mine are covered with aiptasia.
