Whats living inside my torch coral?

I had this torch for a month and was dipped. it always has this almost black thing coming out of one of its mouth and it seemed to have grown bigger. what can it be? surely not poop cuz its alway there. Thanks

That is rather odd looking. As a euphyllia-addict I’ve never seen anything saying it’s particularly bad or need for alarm unless there are other signs of stress associated with the discoloration.

How does the skeletal flesh look; any signs of recession or peeling?

Looks like there is a slight bit of bleaching on the tentacles. Most of time bleaching is caused from too much light. I know, see there’s a gold torch beside it that doesn’t look to have bleaching occurring but in regards over lighting think of wearing a dark colored shirt outside on a summer day versus a light colored shirt; the dark shirt will feel hotter because it’s absorbing more light. Nitrates will also play a role in the amount of light corals can handle as well.

If you can, get more pics of the dark area that are a little more clear than the ones already posted it may be a little easier to try and help find what it is. Lifting the torch close to the surface may help in getting pics as clear as possible.

Thanks ill try to get a better photo tmr. I have recently (~2 wks ago) changed my lighting preset and didnt realize it produces much higher par tho with less wattage until yesterday i ran a par test so its likely to be bleached a bit but im fixing that up. Other than that it looks normal. Opens large and wide and responds to feeding (red sea ab+ and frozen mysis)

I believe I see a tube for a vermetid snail. If so, place a dab of gel super glue over the opening.

i have taken a better picture (i think ) but i dont think its vermetid snail. it doesnt retract when i blow it with a turkey baster

Absolutely no way a tube snail. I would grasp it and twist off. If soft . may be macroalgae

Personally I’d try removing it, but if you’re not comfortable doing that then leave it. As long as it doesn’t look to be aggravating the torch it shouldn’t be a huge issue going forward.

Im so lost now …… i feel like the torch might just had constipation and have this month old poop stuck in its mouth…………. what happened was i was trying to let the polyps retracted to an extent that i can pick out the thing, but the polyps only retract a bit and still to covering that thing so i heavily blew for a minute or so and that thing break at its mouth and fell off but it doesnt look like a living creature
