I just saw this on my clown. I was able to catch him and put him in QT. He's been in the display for about 1 month. Before that he was in QT for 1 month. I treated with Prazipro but nothing else. I have copper safe and an API test kit, but I got scared off from using it with the latest info. He never showed any issues or signs of anything until just now. I just fed him and he ate, but he was swimming slightly erratic at times looking like this was bothering him.

Any idea what this is and how to treat? Thanks!

Moving the fish to QT the spot faded. It's still there I'm sure but not bright white and noticeable.

Would you say the spot is solid looking or more like cauliflower or cotton?

Hard to tell now because it isn't as noticeable in the QT at the moment. I'd say more like cauliflower. Actually looks kinda like Popeye now. His eye on that side is larger. I don't know if Popeye usually comes with a growth or cyst like that.

Clowns have a rather thick mucus coat. Sometimes they pick up things like bits of sand, food, etc.

I just gave him a freshwater dip in case it was a parasite like that. I didn't notice anything come off.

Any thoughts on medication I should use if any?

Thanks

If it were my fish I'd give it a bath in Ruby Reef Rally. It has both antiseptic and antibiotic qualities.

If it is a Cirolanid isopod, it should be slowly crawling over him. It will not just remain stationary.
