Whats on my zoes

Hi bought a new zoe plug few days ago but just got this green zoe looking things comming out as well

It's just a green paly. They can be a little invasive and it may contain palytoxin. If it starts to to reproduce, it will shade out your zoas.

Haha I recently saw one of the lfs trying to sell a rock about 1ft covered in these green palys for $150! These green palys are one of the most toxic when it comes to paly toxin. There is a pdf somewhere online that shows a study on palytoxin and shows pics of the most toxic. These were the most, next were the brown ones. I would take that frag and give it to an lfs. It will smother everything and you will be forced to remove it. Oh yea, throw in the fact that they grow like weeds!

Wow ok so not worth pulling them off . Is it really that bad

You can pull the frag out and cut that paly off with a razor. Just wear goles and goggles. One drawback is it may have some babies that you don't see.
